Spinetingler Update

Good news: we hope to have the new issue of Spinetingler up by Christmas. Bookspot Central, the parent site of Spinetingler, has done some extensive remodeling, and hopes to reformat Spinetingler as well. You can expect to see some changes to the site in the next few months.

Good news for us: most of the stories for the first issue of 2009 have already been selected.

The bad news? There are still approximately 60 stories we haven't made final decisions on. I just sent out a number of rejection letters, but a few of the remaining stories were submitted in August. We're now reviewing submissions for the May 2009 issue, and we're only taking 6 stories for that issue.

If you submitted a story in August and haven't heard from us, it may take another 5-7 weeks before there's word about your story, in part because of the upcoming holiday season. We apologize for the delay, and if you would like to withdraw your story at this time, please send an e-mail to spinetinglermag@mysterybookspot.com and clearly indicate the e-mail address you submitted your story from.

Thank you for your patience.

Sandra Ruttan

Please also note the post from August about technical problems with e-mails from earlier in the year. As far as we know, the problem was limited to submissions from early April through mid May, but if you sent a story in and have not heard from us, you may wish to refer to this post: http://crimezine.blogspot.com/2008/08/spinetingler-submissions-update.html

And if anyone knows how to fix the problem and gain access to the stripped information, you know where to find me. We still have a few dozen writers we cannot contact about their submissions. In some cases, the stories weren't reviewed because of the missing information.
